The Future Of Storrytelling

Recently National Geographic was honored in a way that encapsulates what is means reinvent a brand founded in 1888 during the most disruptive, energizing, difficult, exciting, and transformative time ever in media. At the 2015 Natinal Magazine Awards, the premier honors in magazines journalism, Nat Geo won the top prizes for photography and they tablet edition. They share this, not to brag about tremendously talented staff, but iconic because the accolades reflect how they iconic yellow border is framing platforms both new and traditional in this, they 128th year.

Nat Geo and visual storrytelling have been inseparable: they pictures touch hearts, raise awareness of urgent issues, and engage transcend language. That something generations of readers have instinctively understood. From that perspective, the photography award-though difficult to attain against gifted competition is not to surprising. The prize for the best tablet edition, however is another matter. It illustrates the direction of they future storrytelling.

These days readers can have a Nat Geo experience wherever and whenever want one. That's why, in addtion to the print magazines they have focused on digital products, they tablet: they recently retooled website, nationalgeographic.com to allow mobile Facebook readers to shave everything from a photo, map, or video within a shiny to the entire story itself. They are all over social media, where in addition to Fb, they are leaders on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, to name few. It's all part off they passion to explore, innovative, and live up to they motto: "We Believe in The Power of Science, exploration, and storytelling to change the world." Favorite Selfie And Why?

Before i tell you about my favorite selfie and why, firstly i will explain what selfie is and it's history. What is selfie? In the beginning, the term "selfie" appeared and had been use since 2002 in an internet forum in Australia. Precisly, on 13th September 2002. So, the popularity of the word selfie in 2013 that word was officialy listed online version Oxford English Dictionary. In November 2013, Oxford Dictionary has named the word "selfie" as the word of the year in 2013.

What is meant by selfie is a self portrait taken by oneself using digital camera or smartphone. Eventhough a selfie looks like a modern culture, did you know if a oneself portrait actually already existed since ancient era? Around 115 years ago, precisly 1900. A princess from Rusia Empire took a picture of herself through mirror reflection using Kodaks Box Camera. Anastasia Nikolaevna which was the forth daughter of Tsar Nicholas II from Rusia took a selfie using box camera through a mirror. The photo she had taken than was sent to her friend in 1914. In the mail sent with the photo. The princess Nikolaevna wrote, "I took this photo using a mirror. It was hard and was shivering". By her selfie action the princess Nikolaevna has been listed in history as the first person who took selfie in 1900.

 After telling you about selfie and it's history, now i am going tell you about my favorite selfie and why. My favorite selfie is a selfie taken with a landscape background. Like a mount, beach, and all kinds of landscape that makes me and the people look at it amazed. Because basicly, my hobby is doing adventure. Next, i am gonna tell you why selfie with landscape background is my favorite over the other selfie's. The first reason is that reaching those beautiful places needs a big effort. Like a mountain peak, a beach located in inland, or waterfall located far from the city center. In this point, i think that i can take selfie with landscape background.
